Now let's talk turkey here. These are just a few of the reasons why I believe we need a Union. I'm a married man, with three kids. There is no way whatsoever that I can afford to support my family on the money that Trane pays me. I can't even afford to buy a home in the COUNTY that I work in. Now with the inflated gas prices, I can barely afford to drive to and from work on top of it. Every pay day, I get a check for $350. Right off the bat, $55.... later on in the week, another $55. ALMOST 33% of my take home pay goes to driving to and from work. That leaves me $240 per week to pay rent, car insurance, groceries, diapers, formula, pay utilities, phone bill... not to mention clothes for growing children, school supplies, and all of the other bills that we all face.

I invite anyone to go look at homes that you can afford when you take home $1,400 per month. Even studio apartments rent will be about $500 per month. If you buy a home in Panama City, you'll be looking at a mortgage of $1,000 - 1,700 per month. WHY DOESN'T TRANE WANT TO PAY US ENOUGH TO LIVE? Working in a plant like the one we have should NOT be a second job. This is the kind of work that should pay enough for us to survive and have a family. We should NOT have to make our spouses find a job, nor should we have to go work at a burger joint on another shift just to make ends meet. Trane CAN AFFORD to pay us A LOT more than they do.

Remember the pie Julie told us about... you can cut the pie up in different ways, but it's still the same pie. Wrong... they can stop paying bonuses for production to those who don't have their hands in production. How many managers do you think get HUGE annual bonuses that eclipse our annual salaries? They can make the pie bigger, but not paying the overpaid even more.

It's time for us to STAND UP, STAND STRONG, and STAND TOGETHER! We are the company... without us, they make NO MONEY, so it's long time that they treat us as well as we deserve for providing for them as well as we do.

It seems that all I am doing is working tro pay for baby setting. I have to work all the over time they give me just to make ends meet. I do not know what to do but I am leaning toward giving this union thing a shot. Thank You!

Sorry folks but I am sick and tiered of hearing about how we need to become a family again. I did not come to work here looking for a family. I came here to make a living!!! If you think that this company can make me feel all warm and fuzzy by telling me that we will become a family again you insult me. I know this, all companys are run from the top down and quess who is on the bottom. They care about profits and market share and we are just a mathematical equation. If we ever hope to make a change then we must push back and the only way we can do that is to show them that a united workforce is their biggest asset and their greatest fear.

STOP WHINING AND START SIGNING!!!
